This basement addition, which included a new staircase, home-office guest suite, full bath and family room, added 600 square feet to the home. We designed the custom cabinetry in the home office and guest suite to provide clean and efficient use of vertical space and maximize usable square footage on the floor.

With the glass-topped, window-desk set into the Andersen bow window, slide-away printer cabinet and ample built-in shelving and cabinets, the home-office is both functional and elegant. The kitchenette/mini-bar with deep sink, built-in microwave and paneled mini fridge makes the basement addition fully self-contained. French pocket-doors add soundproofing and privacy between rooms
The custom Murphy bed, which we built into the bookcase, lends versatility to the room. Coffered ceilings, crown molding and recessed lighting add to the refined and spacious feeling. Light-colored floors and rich cabinetry coupled with soft tones on the walls and light from the large windows and exterior doors balance the indoor and outdoor spaces perfectly.
