“The way Jim designed and built the master bedroom and closet makes full use of space. It is extremely efficient – presents an elegant look when you walk in. All this without adding a second-story or more space to the home. I am impressed with the degree to which space is used.”
EVOLUTION OF A HOME REMODEL
“Initially, we had a list of relatively small projects. Windows, doors… and we wanted to replace the hardwood floors. Since things were going to be in a state of upheaval, we figured that we might as well do it all. Once you start planning, decide to move everything out of the house and rent an apartment… that is the time to get things done. It evolved from there. Everybody likes the new design and it genuinely looks better. When people see the house for the first time their reaction is very positive. It’s the most we could have done short of a full remodel or addition. Jim improved quality of life in our home and we just really enjoy it.”

With this project we made the absolute best use of the available space – stopping just short of an addition to the home. The challenge, find solutions that would afford the client optimal functionality without building out or up. What began a shortlist of small changes, evolved into a comprehensive remodeling project. Because the client ultimately decided to move out during the renovation, J. Nord Wolfe reconfigured the walls and doors to every room and bedroom. We refinished all the floors, did the stucco and paint, removed all the old closets and created a whole new take on the space.
We used Alder-hardwood, shaker-style doors on all rooms, Jeld-wen windows/trim and custom inset built-ins for the closet seen here. Fully adjustable shelving, dovetail drawers, soft-close doors and pre-finished Maple plywood interiors are a few of the finishing touches we added to complete the luxe feel.
Have you seen the master bathroom? It’s worth a look and just through the door. Have a look.
