This project is a great example of what can be done over time and in stages. These photos detail the kitchen and laundry area. We were able to accomplish so much with the 600 square foot addition we built onto the back of the house. The project touched on many rooms. We added or enhanced the kitchen, laundry area, family room, home-office, outdoor porch and stamped concrete patio out back. Bump out a relatively small area and so much is possible.
“I love it! It is hard to pick one thing I love the most. The house is totally different now. When I bought the house in 2011, it was a dark, tiny, fifty-year-old home. It had popcorn ceilings, asbestos, mirrored, bi-fold closet doors. All of that was taken out and replaced. We refinished the floors too…
OUR CLIENT TALKS ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE
So many things were done before I moved in!
It was a total fluke. I met Jim one day – just overheard him talking and since I needed a contractor, I introduced myself. After checking into him, I used him to do a small job – a bathroom redo before putting that home on the market. Then he worked on my new home and got everything done – after that, we just kept tackling the projects on my list. Jim really talks to you – with you. Once we took out the bad patio room it made the space feel so open and bright. We added a beautiful new kitchen he did all the plans himself. He has great ideas – many of them I used. Communication lines were always open and there was never a surprise. I would show this kitchen off to anyone!
Having worked with several contractors in the past, I know the importance of staying in contact. Most contractors fall short and as a result, things don’t work out. In contrast, Jim was in constant communication. He manages his contractors really well and he stands solidly by the work he does. I was so pleasantly surprised when everything was done on time and within budget. Sure, there were things that took the project outside the original plan and new choices were made to along the way, however, there were never any surprises. And that’s huge!
One of my favorite things… definitely the kitchen cabinets! Everything was designed for me and how I use the space. The original kitchen was so tiny and dark – it had virtually no cabinet space and now it’s SO functional. Jim did the plans for me. I have special drawers for the pots and hidden drawers for the trash and recycling. Everything is tucked away in the perfect spot. I even have a spice-drawer right under the cook-top with all the little dividers. I just love it! I’ve had a housewarming party and potluck dinners and find it’s a great place for entertaining. People really enjoy themselves here and that is really special. I love it all. Everything Jim did made this house mine.”
