Yet another fun project! This one, in Campbell, CA. The homeowners opted to stay in their home while J. Nord Wolfe remodeled more than half the house. You can read about their experience below the photos. By opening the space and adding just under 400 square feet to the layout, the house is so much more functional, and perfectly suited to the owners. Now they can live, cook, and entertain in the way they have dreamed. Have a look.

THE CLIENT’S STORY
“I have worked with contractors and I have done a kitchen remodel before. The experience with Jim was one of professionalism that exceeded any other experience. He is meticulous about quality and very focused on details.
Jim was recommended by our architect. Our designer designed the space and Jim built everything out. He tore down walls and combined rooms into a great room, which opens into the backyard done in pavers. Within the addition, Jim added a utility room including full bath and plenty of custom cabinet space. I even have TWO pantries – one is just for shoes.
I am not sure that I could pick a favorite thing. I love the open-concept kitchen and big island. There is so much counter space for food prep and entertaining. The fireplace is amazing the whole thing, the wraparound and bookshelves. The drawers that hide the gaming equipment. The bathroom the tiles are so gorgeous. It was so much work for the tile guy! I felt I needed to apologize to him for just how much work it was. It turned out so well. I absolutely love the brass hardware on the bar and eggplant colored cabinets – the combination is stunning. The space flows so well. It’s so bright, fun, and elegant.
We spoke to five contractors and felt best about Jim. Not the cheapest, however, very detail oriented and he brought a great deal of thought and specifics to the proposal. Jim set up regularly scheduled meetings for the first few weeks and then, because he was around so frequently, he could easily keep us updated as the project moved along. Jim always gave great options. We really appreciated them and incorporated a fair number of them into the project. Jim manages his subcontractors really well. I liked that Jim and his subs were so clean. We lived in the house while the work was done and it was as good as it could possibly be at the end of the day. They were very respectful of our space.
Before the remodel, the house was too small and very inefficient. The original kitchen was definitely not what I needed to prepare and cook meals. It was no fun. I wanted a space I could enjoy, where we could comfortably entertain and wanted the flow to be open, easy, and comfortable. Besides that, I needed TWO ovens! The end result was my dream come true. It is everything I had hoped for! You don’t always get what you dream of or what you hope for, however this, THIS is awesome!
Those who saw our old space, before we did the work, say to me that they didn’t think it was possible for something like THIS to happen. They are surprised that we could do SO much with the space we had. They find the space to be at once functional, and warm and inviting. These days I’m in the kitchen all the time and makes me want to cook! This feels like an entirely new home and we only added -400 ft.² in the build-out of the utility room. I got my dream!”
